PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Communications Director BU is responsible for developing Communications strategy for Latin America, linking Business priorities to internal and external communications plan.
Also, is accountable for implementing and developing both internal and external communication plans and activities within the respective business unit(s) to enhance the organization's relations with all stakeholders (e.g. customers, consumers and employees). The Communications Director BU is responsible for sharing best practices and aligning internal and external communications strategy for major programs and initiatives across a business unit and to overall company communication guidelines.
MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Links Business strategy to Communications strategy.
- Successfully implements key global initiatives.
- Drives Sustainability committee across BU.
- Drives the internal and external activation of corporate branding initiatives (e.g. employer branding).
- Establishes and implements Business Unit(s) communications plans, guidelines and routines.
- Acts as a strategic Business Partner to relevant functions by ensuring optimal communication channel mix to maximize outreach to internal/external stakeholders in order to achieve awareness and knowledge in relevant areas.
- Drives and ensures Best Practice Sharing within the business unit to support establishment of professional communications skills.
- Supports Change Communication within the Business Unit.
- Manages overall communication mix and implements roll-out of plans for various media channels (including digital media).
- Proactively drives publication of news stories according to Company’s editorial strategy and plan (internal & external).
- Establishes professional media and crisis communication routines across Business Units and local markets.
- Initiates, provides and establish communications trainings and routines, such as media training.
- Works in close corporation with communications responsible in respective countries to ensure implementation of Business Unit communication plans and corporate branding activation. Supports country communications activities if needed.
- Establishes, develops and controls communication policies & practices in line with overall Company group objectives.
- Actively participates in BU Senior Leadership Team.
EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS
- University degree; ideally in a communications related major. An MBA or any other business related education would be a plus.
- +10 year experience in managerial/leadership roles in Communications, gained in multinational companies.
- Used to work in complex matrix organizations.
- Experience in both internal and external communications; including PR/PA and crisis management.
- International experience, supporting different countries within Latin America.
- Experience managing people (nice to have).
- Fluent in Spanish and English. Portuguese would be a plus.
- Hands on.

- Strong presentation/written communications skills.
- Proven experience working with communication technology (Digital).
